Exposed Aggregate

IntelCrete Concrete Works designs and constructs exposed aggregate driveways, patios and sidewalks in the Winnipeg area. We take care of the breakout and removal of old concrete driveways and patios and even old wood decks. The groundwork is done by excavating, if necessary, to the clay base and replacing sod/soil with road crush tamped with a vibrating plate tamper. Our skilled professionals crib forms with curves if wanted and then tie in 10 mm rebar at 15″ o.c. We pour 32 MPA high quality concrete at 4 to 6 inches thick in Winnipeg area and expose the aggregate and curing seal the concrete and come back in a month for the final high gloss sealing process.

The homeowner has a few choices when it comes to exposed aggregate. Most often the colour of the exposed pebbles is grey but it is often brown. If your choice is brown one of our suppliers has really good product that usually runs out by June so it is best to move fast. In large areas like over 800 square feet driveways or patios it is possible to have a border in stamped concrete. Often one is used in order to offset the other main colour in the form of a border. Sometimes a stamped concrete design is used to offset the exposed aggregate. This gives the job an even higher class and appealing look.
